Disclaimer of sorts

I want to start by saying, that though I've adopted much from the program of Alcoholics Anonymous, I recognize that AA is a program of attraction rather than promotion.  I am in no way intending to promote that program here.  I sincerely hope that rather, I can take what has been given me and implement it onto these pages and through these words for anyone who needs to hear it.  It has been my experience that, although my initial working of my steps was long ago and for my addiction to alcohol, I have since realized how important these steps are for the common man.  I do not want to diminish the fact that an alcoholic is "bodily and mentally different from his fellows" (BB p.30) because as an alcoholic I believe this is true.  But we touch on something else in AA.  We talk about the fallacy of, 'terminal uniqueness'.  It is my belief that we all, as humans, no matter where we are in our walk with God, suffer on some level with some addiction.  For goodness sake, it could be an addiction to coffee or an addiction to social media or an addiction to cleaning your house.  But God wants us to be 'addicted' to him.  And so we must get out of the way.  Because all other addictions are really, at some root level, a wrong focus.  The focus of ourselves.  Our own will.   My sincere desire is that we could find a common ground here in this place and simply...grow.
